Barabàn originate in Milan. And I've been thinking about Milan quite a lot recently. Mostly, because I've been reading about 'Golden Age' Spain. During which, Milan played a pivotal role in linking Iberian Spain to it's imperial domains in both Italy and Northern Europe and with the Austrian Hapsburg dominions in the Germanies. That's only one of countless occasions in which Milan has acted as the crossroads of Europe. The Napoleonic wars and the city's founding by imperial Rome spring to mind. Those experiences have undoubtedly contributed to the awesome cultural heritage of the city. It's a pity that Brexit makes it nearly impossible to work there anymore.
