The hard-drinking, hard-singing, port city theme continues. Yesterday Glasgow, today Liverpool. Two cities not only joined by their sea traditions, but by umbilical cords to Dublin and Ireland. A theme reflected in Eddie Gallagher's “On the Boat to Liverpool”. The featured song “Il mio mondo” is here to further remind little Englanders that much of their 'unique culture' came from somewhere else. I don't know much about Gloria Benavides. I just stumbled over her stuff while researching Chilean Nueva Ola, and noticing the disproportionate Italian influence on it. It's a German Wednesday, but there's a distinctly regional flavour here.
