Every Thursday I try to listen to at least 10 Italian songs. Today there's 21, because Wilma Goich is the featured artist. She's here because she performed on pretty much all the platforms and festivals that the Italian music industry has to offer. Certainly not because of her proposed candidature for Rome city council in 2008 (for 'The Right'). Sadly, wrong-headed politics seems to be a trait among Italy's Ye-Ye girls. 1969 throws up some pretty high quality soul music. While Amapola is a Spanish classic that doesn't seem to have quite the prominence in English that it has in most other European languages.
