Gabriella Ferri is probably my all-time favourite Italian singer. She's not merely unheard of in the anglosphere, but was barely remembered in Italy too — until recently. I suspect that YouTube and social sharing explain the mini-revival. Her voice and songs are, apparently, not to everyone's taste. I struggle to accept that, but accept it I must. Nevertheless, here's a quick sample, given in the hope that I'm not her only anglophone fan. James Connolly needs no introduction to fans of socialism and national self-determination. 1976 mostly brings soul — the usual Northern and mainstream mix. English Sunday is much the same.
