The Twist was a global, multi-lingual, multi-generational, dance music craze like no other. Today's sample is entirely in French. Not so much because francophone twisting was better than the rest, but just because there are so many good examples of it. And, unlike so much French pop that followed, they don't sound like a lame pastiches of Americana.
