Adamo to Porta Romana

The stand-outs today are Salvatore Adamo as the featured artist and “Porta Romana bella” as the featured song. I'm inclined to spotlight Adamo, because alongside Dalida, he's probably the greatest of the greatest European pop singers who are largely unknown to the general public in anglophone countries. Porta Romana is just a cracking Milanese folk song that also deserves to be better known in the anglosphere. Although, of course, it makes a lot less sense if you don't know the language or the dialect. The last contribution I'd highlight is Cecilia Pantoja's “Adelante”. I adore her '40 fags a day' voice and this song really draws on it.
