I admit it. I do eventually tire of “The Twist”. But it really takes a lot more than a mere 10 tracks to get there. I love the rhythm, but I love the history even more. It was, arguably, the first global music and dance craze of the 'pop' era. As we can see from the selection here, within months it spawned covers and evolutions across virtually every major country and language in the world. And, at the same time it was, perhaps, the last global pop culture genre that spanned the generations. It's this character of unity and diversity that most appeals to me.
