A good day — but only marginally.
As the checklists reveal, a lot of high quality Spanish learning took place, if not the maximum possible.
The main disappointment was a severe drop in self-discipline towards the end of the evening — resulting in a late bedtime and eating too much. I attribute both to hubris — inspired by comparative successes, earlier in the day and week.
Clearly, I need to concentrate harder on late evening decision-making.
At least some of the late night eating would have been avoided, had I persuaded myself not to watch the last two episodes of "The Great" — in Spanish.
That decision gave too much weight to the fact that that a late rise was possible on Friday — and too little weight to the fact that taking the time would undo all of the good work I'd done on exercise and sleep in previous days.
The most important thing to remember in future is — not to make such decisions at all, after 8 pm.
In almost all circumstances, the planned routine will have incorporated much better evaluation and decision-making.
